HELP ON ACTING TECHNIQUE ……. ?????????????
i believe that method acting isn’t that powerful approach to acting other than Stanislavsky, Stella Alder or Meisner…… all which is based on imagination
But out of these three which technique is the best ,,,,
is it Stanislavsky, Stella Alder or Meisner ???????
and also some acting teachers say that you have to do traditional line memorization methods that include vocal inflections or gestures …. Meisner says these things should be avoided because doing so merely increases the chance the actor will miss a “real moment” in service of a rehearsed habit or line reading. Meisner actors learn lines dry, “by rote,” without inflection, so as not to memorize a line reading. When the line is finally to be delivered, its quality and inflection is derived from the given moment. ……..

How to Help Your Child Learn To Read
Words are the tools of thinking and expression. Perhaps one of the greatest home-aids to a child’s reading is helping the child develop the art of marking and underlining in order to identify easily the significant material to be remembered. This practice is called “reading with a pencil in hand.” It is a practice so valuable as to be worth buying books to be marked.
There are three important underlinings which should be used. The child should be taught to underline fundamental vocabulary words, and this can be started with the very first book that deals with subject matter. The method suggested for fundamental vocabulary words is a line above a shorter line (number, add, count, subtract, multiply, fraction, arithmetic, problem, divide).
The longer line stands for definition, and the shorter line stands for spelling. The second grader who underlines number in his book Fun With Numbers will not be spelling it (nomber) when he is a junior in secondary school, and the fourth grader who learns the definition of the word fraction will not be having trouble with fractions as an eighth grader, because he only learned about fractions, but really never knew what the word meant in terms of whole experience.
The second kind of under lining can be a broken line to designate details, facts, and significant word pictures which are interesting, but perhaps not of primary importance to understanding the content of the subject. This is a splendid way to introduce the child to the excitement of independent study: “Here is a fact. Here is a description which interests me. It is not important for a question, but I like it and I want to remember it.”
The third kind of underlining is the long solid line that points out the solid information: such essentials as topic sentences, specific details, definitions, and summary sentences.
Practices in Better Reading
Emphasize a positive approach to reading – to concentrate, to remember, and to apply. Reading for pleasure and reading for work, used in the early years, should be converted, at about fourth or fifth grade level, into the three methods – skimming, careful reading, and intensive reading.
Use questions and tests in all reading. Teach the child to look for possible questions and answers.
Underline important words and details; make marginal symbols to point out important material. The child who reads “with a pencil in his hand” is the child who thinks about what he is reading.
It is well for the child to be reminded frequently that reading is not a simple process, learned in one year, but that the really good reader is constantly disciplining himself to improve.
There are no predetermined reading levels for children, such as third grade level or fifth grade level. Help your child choose what is interesting to him. With a little guidance he will always be beyond his grade level.
After the pattern of words has been mastered, the sentence must then be divided into fixations and ideas, and read for ideas.
Knowledge of paragraph structure is necessary for all methods of reading; and the ability to find the essential ideas of topics is a practice built almost entirely upon this knowledge.
Teach your child to make a Preliminary Survey before reading – the title, the section headings, the main topics of paragraphs. This should provide the answer to the question: What am I going to learn?
No reading assignment in school work is complete until it has been summarized with the book closed; this is best done by paragraphs or sections rather than by whole assignments.
Books are the memory of mankind, and their function is memory; they make available for us what is known. Whatever can be done to teach a deeper appreciation of them will add much to the life of the fortunate one being taught.
The very physical structure, parts, etc., of a book should be taught in the early years; much help is provided by knowing and using properly the separate parts.
Help your child in these ways and you will be adding to his life skills.

Life story essay for my Psychology Class: I need help with my essay please?
Hello, I attend Ashford online college and I was hoping that someone would help me with my essay. It needs to be in APA formatting and I also need help with citing sources in APA format as well. The other last thing I need help with is writing a conclusion as well as helping rewrite my thesis statement. Here’s my essay so far:
My Time Capsule

PSYCH 202
Professor Tim Serey
June 29 , 2009
Being away from school and academics can take a big toll on you, I know because when I heard that I had to write a Reflective paper for my Psych 202 class, I started getting nervous. My academic past has never been anything “stellar” so whenever I wrote papers in my high school years for my language arts classes, they were never “A+” material. Now that I have not written an essay in about a decade, I feel more frustrated than I have in the past. The purpose of this reflective paper is for me to illustrate my past, present and future through a series of experiences using theories of Adult Development introduced to me in this class. These experiences are what made me the person I am today and will probably dictate what I will become in the future.
The first eleven years of my life were spent in Ecuador, South America where I was born and raised (at least I think that is how it went down). My family was majorly involved in academics, so my parents always had high marks in school and my grandmother was literally my personal teacher. She ran 2 schools all by herself. One was her college where she was the principal and a teacher and the other elementary school where I went to and did the same there. Pretty impressive if I may say so, which leads me to the reason why my entire family is important to me. Everyone has had some sort of high level achievement which make them positive role models for me and possibly my children in the future. The other people who are important to me are my friends because they know I sometimes have low self confidence, but even so, they do their best to push me to my limits and help me get out of the holes I sometimes dig myself into. No one is perfect, but even then, we do our best to help each other out and that is one huge positive aspect of my friends that not even money could never buy.
As everyone knows, we all have hobbies in our childhood that we think might determine the type of job we might have in the future. My hobbies included martial arts, collecting action figures (got to love that era when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were a big hype!!), playing with electric train sets, and old school video games. Of course now, the amount of hobbies I have are greater than before, because I now do some web design, collect samurai swords and chat online with friends. However, the one hobby that was truly worthwhile was martial arts, because although it is actually a sport I treated it more like a hobby of mine. It was a good source of modeling because it taught me a lot about discipline, respect, trust, generosity, and many other positive aspects of life. According to Albert Bandura’s social learning theories, learning can also take place by watching others perform an action and experience some sort of reinforcement and or punishment (Boyd & Bee, Custom Edition, 2009, page 31). In a way, this relates to me because I learn by watching others do certain tasks and through that I can see what will work and what will not.
After I graduated from high school, my life sort of started heading down hill because I did not immediately attend college, but instead took a long five year break from education. Such action took a big toll on me, because I started forgetting about the skills I had acquired and resulted in me ending up in a dead end job. It seriously took four years for me to earn my first promotion, because my manager was not exactly as smart as everyone else was and he intended on keeping it that way. Though I did enjoy the free time, I felt like it was all for nothing. There was nothing to learn from it, nothing to be gained and no feeling of accomplishment. Thinking that changing jobs to an electronics store would make any improvements in my life was also a mistake. Instead, it got even worse from there! Although I did get promoted in a significantly short amount of time, it was not really that much rewarding and felt like there was something still missing. My attendance for that job started getting worse and worse and I was finally fired for bad attendance and from there began my 3 month depression where I seriously did not want to do anything, not even breathe.
Though it took quite some time for my family to help me recover from this depression, I actually feel like it was well worth it after all. It helped me wake up from this coffin I put myself into and allowed me to rethink my position in going back to school. Thankfully, there was a call from one of the academic recruiters from Ashford University who also helped me a lot in
I am not gonna use them as my own. I already have my own here. What I am trying to do is polish it so that it looks better. No one knows if my thesis even works? thats what I am having problems with. I went to one of your links and they were charging me for an essay. Hell naw. thanks anyways though.
